Joel Blankson, MD, PhD Professor of Medicine
Joel Blankson is a Professor of Medicine and Molecular and Comparative Pathobiology. He earned his MD from Weill Cornell Medical College and his PhD from the Rockefeller University. He completed his internship, residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Blankson is a faculty member in the Immunology and Cellular and Molecular Medicine (CMM) graduate programs in the JHU School of Medicine. His laboratory studies the HIV viral reservoir and T cell responses to HIV, SARS-CoV-2 and the monkeypox virus. He is the medical director of the inpatient HIV service.
